Tribofinishing
Tribofinishing was inspired by natural phenomena: the regular flow of water from a river transforms raw pebbles into perfectly polished pebbles. This operation, also called vibratory finishing, integrates polishing technics, deburring, shining, radius improvement and deoxidation. Parts that need to be polished or deburred are inserted in an enclosure that contains abrasives; this enclosure is set in motion (usually vibration or rotation). The material removal, the polishing level and the surface finish obtained depend on the composition, the size of the carriers, the speed parameters, and the cycle time.
